Project description
As a technical solution, a dammed plant with a control building is planned, with the installation of three VLH turbines designed for very small net water head Manufacturer is MJ2 Technologies, from France, type 4000 (turbine type Kaplan), electrical power 3x0.403 MW=1.209 MW.
Three turbines, VHL 4000 turbo generators manufactured by MJ2 Technologies were selected, which are specially designed for the use of small heads and large flows.
The turbine tract and the rubber dam form a barrier and are in contact with water (Kupa river). The rubber dam control shaft is an underground facility with a system for filling and emptying the rubber dam according to the law of connected vessels and as such is in contact with water. Filling of the flexible dam takes place from a special reservoir in the rubber dam control shaft (chamber D). The water level in the tank is higher than the water level in the dam.
Basic technical parameters of one VHL 4000 turbine at maximum production:
- gross head: ΔH = 2,97 m
- net head: ΔH = 2,82 m
- installed flow: Q = 19 m³/s
- max. turbine power: 450 kW (at 100% open blades)
- power at the plant’s threshold: 403 kW (at 100% open blades)
- turbine rotor diameter: Ø 4000 mm
- installation angle: 45˚
- number of blades: 8
